Meet David Money
David Money was born in Abbeville and has lived in Henry County most all his life. He’s been married to Karen Crow from Clarke County for 53 years. They have four married children and grandchildren. He and his family are active in the Abbeville Methodist Church.
For 40 years, David was the owner of Money Ford in Abbeville from 1972 until he sold the dealership in 2012. David was elected Henry County Probate Judge and Henry County Commission Chairman in 2012 and served two six-year terms. On the Alabama Probate Judges Association, he’s served on dozens of committees. In 2020, David was elected President of the Association of County Commissions of Alabama and chaired its statewide legislative committee. Previously, David was on the Abbeville City Council for eight years before serving as Mayor of Abbeville for four more.
David has been involved in local, regional and state public service for almost 50 years – all but twelve of those years as a volunteer. David served as chairman of the Wallace College Foundation Board and is the longest serving board member with over 20 years of service. He has worked hard to help establish several organizations: Abbeville Boys & Girls Club, Leadership Henry (for adult citizens), the Henry County Youth Leadership Program, the Bethlehem Walk to Emmaus and many others.
